Shenyang Institute of Psychology
Shenyang Institute of Psychology (SIP) provides the decision-making bodies with psychological consultation, while performing research and studying the mentality of both the leaders and mass. In addition to serving multi-functions, such as scientific research and popularization by running special training course, SIP also serves as a brains trust under the direct leadership of the Shenyang Municipal Government. So far in China, SIP is the only institute of its kind that is directly led by the municipal government. SIP consists of 10 dedicated experts, including 2 people who have senior title of psychology, 1 people who has middle title of psychology and 1 people who has preliminary title of psychology and 2 people who have senior title of sociology. The small entity is responsible for organizing the task teams for particular subjects, and translating the fruits of research into consultation information providing to the governmental policy decision-making body. Part-time researchers can be engaged freely from both the famous experts of related disciplines and/or senior civil servants, so as to form a large network system consisting of superior faculty. So far, there are 38 part-time senior researchers who are presently engaged to work for this network system. The funds to support SIP are mainly provided by the Municipal Government of Shenyang, but also partially from self-raising. SIP is upholding the spirit of gaining status by effectiveness. Since 1996 SIP has, on invitation of Eurasia Political Culture Research Network (EPCRN), participated in the academic exchange involving the scholars from Denmark, Norway, Sweden, the Republic of Korea, Japan, Mainland China and Taiwan, engaged in cross-cultural study between east and west. SIP takes a serious attitude towards exploration by an admirable dedicate working style, unswervingly discovering the Chinese road to develop political psychology and tirelessly emitting its influence both at home and abroad. |
